This Form of Dancing is Good Exercise ….for Your Mind!

Do you like to dance? I do, sometimes, when I don’t think about what I look like doing it.

I prefer the celebratory type of dances though, like a good ole end zone dance. You know the ‘I just scored big and there’s nothing you can do about It’ dance. It’s invigorating for sure.

I also like doing that same kind of dance for my clients when they score big on their goals and reach a significant benchmark or achieve the goal. That’s a dance I can get into, and I really don’t ever care what I look like doing it either. I just go with the spirit that is moving me at the moment.

But there is another dance I’d like to tell you about and invite you to do. I try my best to do this dance everyday, early in the morning as part of my exercise program/routine. The best part is, I never have to get up off the chair to participate in this dance. To look at me, sitting all quiet and still, you would wonder how the heck I could ever think I was dancing – but I am, and in a very big way.

You see the dance I am referring to is the AbunDANCE!

I get to do this dance right after I go through one of my morning routines called ‘the gratitude list’. Being aware of the many things that I have in my life, right now, every morning, that’s the simple process. That has been a powerful daily reminder for me to review what miraculous things I already have in my life, and that the glass is not only more than half full – it’s overflowing all over the counter and floor.

When was the last time you took an accounting of the multitude of things you could (and should) be grateful for in your life?

By doing this simple procedure, I am grounded in TODAY; RIGHT NOW mode as I just take a moment to look around me and recognize what the universe ( GOD specifically) has given to me.

I am overjoyed at the things I write as I write them. And yes, I do rewrite this list, in longhand, everyday within 30 minutes of waking. It takes me all of 7 minutes to do so. I have it timed so that when I am done, so is the coffee, or at least enough for me to pour my first cup.

I find it to be very energizing, to the point where I am kicking up my heels, dancing like nobody’s fool as I am writing the list. It’s a good thing nobody can see me too. I find it to be an empowerment tool, that I carry with me in my toolbox when I’m doing all of the hurried and scurried things that I do everyday. I can recall the list at any given moment and it makes me smile and feel great about who I am , where I am and where I am going.

So, if you want to be happier everyday – Go to the dance, the AbunDANCE, first thing in the morning. You’ll be glad you did.
